Reduce Digital Eye Strain with the LUMES 20-20-20 Timer.
Schedule regular breaks with LUMES 20-20-20 to keep your eyes feeling fresh.
Working with screens can be tiring. That’s because our eyes have to constantly focus and relax to read pixels, which puts more stress on our eye muscles.
If you’ve ever had sore eyes, headaches or difficulty concentrating after looking at device screens, then you’ve probably experienced Computer Vision Syndrome.
But don’t fear, there’s an app for that..
The LUMES 20-20-20 Chrome extension can help reduce CVS by reminding you to take regular breaks from the screen.
The extension is based on the 20-20-20 rule which eye doctors recommend for preventing and relieving eye strain.
What is the 20-20-20 rule?
It’s quite simple, really. The 20-20-20 rule recommends that people using digital devices should look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds, every 20 minutes. The hard part? Remembering to look away..
That’s where LUMES 20-20-20 comes in
Every 20 minutes you’ll get a prompt in your browser to take a break for 20 seconds. What you do in this time is completely up to you, but we’d definitely recommend stretching your legs.
In line with the 20-20-20 rule, the default settings are 20 minutes work, with 20 seconds rest. But, you can also make the timer and break shorter or longer depending on your preferences.
Rest your eyes regularly and be more productive with LUMES 20-20-20
